Wheel Suggestions Chestnut Brown T32

As the title basically. I currently have Sportline 18’s and am wondering whether to stick as is or switch to Black Devonport’s with Swamper tyres, but I am open to a wildcard entry of any kind if anyone has a great suggestion?

Van is a T32 and running standard shocks with Sportline springs.

I started out thinking gold or bronze but slowly been put off by the idea. Perhaps just not spotted the right wheel.

Black staggered 20's. Those rears are way too far inside the arch.

Not a black wheel fan as in a photo on here you can't tell what style of wheel has been used... could be a swamper could be big wheels and rubber band tyres?

Black wheels are always nice I think but might make it all quite dark and somber looking which made me think the silver would be nice

For me it sits too high to get away with going for big 20's but I reckon swamper look could work .
Bronze fuel coverts maybe

Definitely needs coilovers with further drop if I did go 20’s, I agree. Swamper option coming into thought because I want to keep a decent level of ground clearance and gain more comfort too, whilst closing the arch gap a bit more.

18s on a mildly lowered Chestnut Brown camper with H&R coilovers courtesy of Steve @CRS Performance...

This could go lower if it lost the underslung water tank making the wheels fill the arches even more, there are 20mm spacers on the back and an ET45 offset wheel.
Swamping is a frame of mind, I'm not a fan but shouldn't be an excuse to justify retaining the stock suspension as VWs offering is awful.

You didn't say that you wanted to improve the comfort, so we didn't know what you were hoping to achieve by swapping the wheels.

Suspension is the number one way to transform the ride and handling qualities.

I didn't want to come across as a smartar5e regarding wheels as I've been torn on wanting 20" wheels every since fitting 18" and wondering "what if?".
I'll see an aired out Transporter running shirt buttons for wheels at Busfest and not even question the wheel size as the stance has caught my eye.
Fitting 20s on stock suspension can look a bit gawkey with way too much daylight underneath...

So yes, suspension first.

Suspension is the number one way to transform the ride and handling qualities.

You’re absolutely right, I could (should) have added more.

I am looking for the nirvana of a look that I think is coherent with the style of Van, decent road clearance, plus comfort and performance at the same time.

It certainly sounds right that suspension should be my first avenue. That’s where I started, but then the Swamper idea on 235/65/17’s looked like it might resolve everything in one go.

I did t read your post in that way at all. I completely understand though, as I was happy with my 18’s until I saw a few vans on 20’s, then agonised over not wanting to be too low but not wanting 20’s without a tighter arch gap, then flitted over to 17’s with chunky tyres as thought that could cover all aspects with minimal effort.

I actually really like the Sportline’s I have, but currently not got the stance to match, so not seeing them in the same light I guess.

Now to open the cool over can of worms!

Any suggestions for comfort and good road holding with 18’s?

I will sort the suspension but wanted the wheels first and then get the suspension sorted to suit
