Wheel and tyre combo check

Hi All
I have just hit the button on a set of these Rotiforms as for £650 I think they are a bargain and I really like the wheels.

They are 19*8.5 et35. I’m hoping to be able to stick them on straight on to my Caravelle with a 255 45 tire. The GT radial Sport Active 2 ( 255/45R19 104Y) looks like a decent tyre for the money.

My Caravelle is the standard 2019 T6 setup.

But any thoughts or feedback or known issues with this combo before I order the tyres? I can’t find any feedback from Transporter owners on this particular tyre which I guess could be good and bad?

Cheers for any thoughts
Andy

Hi, I can't help with any feedback (they look nice though) I'm afraid, are you fitting any TPMS valves?
I've got a full set of tyres to replace and am mulling over fitting these, does add about £140 to the cost...
I always try to buy a premium tyre as it's the only thing between you and the tarmac, appreciate tyres can be subjective though.

Thanks! Mine is a T6 so uses the ABS sensor to judge tire pressure through the rolling circumference I believe👍

That size isn't overall much different to what I have fitted (265/40/20). So the tyres will be fine as long as the wheels offset is ok for a Caravelle.

What size and fitment are the original wheels and tyres on a Caravelle?

Hi, thanks for that. The wheels on at the moment are 17” x 7 et55 and running a 235/55 17 tyre.

Thanks very much… just looked in there and if I swap to a 255 40 it nigh on matches it identically.. but looks like load rating may be the issue. The Caravelle is T30 and in will be towing and the van will be loaded so probably need to play it on the safe side with the 103 I reckon?

If you're exceeding the load that a 101-rated tyre can take, you're probably exceeding your van's 3000kg MAM
