My original ones fitted back in 2022 have rusted like so many of them. I see THQ say their bars are made from stainless and powder coated.
Can anyone recommend a brand that might last better?

I’m in the same boat 2 years old and rusting badly.
So will follow this thread.
I’m considering changing them to black steps instead of bars.
I like @Drive Wayne steps.
Maybe post up some pics and details of your steps please Wayne?

Not weight bearing though, unless you're an elderly labrador! Now he's gone I want to change them for something normal, but something that will last!

I’ve got the thq trapezoid side bars and although the power coat has chipped away on the front edge there’s no sign of rust.

Hi folks. I have some Leighton Van trapezoid bars that were fitted 2.5 years ago, and covered 35k miles since.

They are in pretty good nick, no rust. Im more than happy with them. The front edge of them does takes a battering off the front wheels, and so they are are starting to show some wear. I wish I put mud guards on long time ago, as that helps protect them.

However, I just looked at them to take a pic, and noticed the one side has a decent chip off the black paint! I best get that patched up quick!

I've just changed my tubular side bars as they have become shells of powder coat filled with iron oxide cornflakes.
Bought a set of DST Automotive stainless steel side bars (£176) and had them post them direct to F&M Powder Coating in Preston for black nylon coating to be done. (around £100).
I picked them up at F&M so can't say what the postage would be from there.
I prefer nylon to polyester powder coating, seems a bit more durable.
