What's Good About T6

All you se on this forum are problems and people complaining about their van. What is good should anyone ever buy one, ours is brilliant best vehicle we have ever had.

It's nothing to do with the van; it's the people who drive them and the camaraderie that goes with it. The product itself is not worthy of the price asked, and the reliability of the German brands has been sliding down the league tables for years.
Owning and using one opens up avenues of adventure that are simply not there if you have a chavved-up Transit.

Its something special! I have always wanted a VW camper. Only had mine since Feb and love it. Just takes over you life. But my annual leave from work goes quick!

What avenues of adventure can you open up in a Transporter that you can't in a Transit? Apart from get 4wd in a medium sized van?

This forum.. honesty, open, and informative.
There are issues with the T6 but thankfully it is not across the board.
The fact that ppl continue to buy them regardless is a true show of how good they are.

Mine is four vehicles in one, not many can do this.

More refined too.

This is typical of a single mark forum, there will always be folk searching the the web for answers to their problem and as this is such a good site with lots of information, it ranks high on google etc. So it will attract a lot of questions from those seeking help.
However, in context, there are many thousands of vans happily driving around without issue.

Good question. I think the answer is none, but a forum like this makes it so much easier with quick access to information and advice.

I've said before on here, I run 12 Transporters and 4 Transits, only one Transporter has needed a trip to the dealers in 12 months, the Transits have been back so many times in 2 years I've lost count.

It's good to get opinions and actual facts on here...we are the opposite, we run 2 Transporters and 6 transits. 5 transits have done approx 200k each before 3 years old and almost never missed a beat, both VWs have been a nightmare, that said my own VW has been perfect apart from a squeaky seat.
One thing that Ford has over VW in my opinion, and it's a huge benefit, is the dealer network and customer service at those dealers. Believe me I have used a lot of dealers around the country and Ford have always been better.
All said and done I wouldn't swap the Kombi for a Custom crew cab....you just don't get the friendly waves!!

At work the transits rechargeable (???) keys don’t charge anymore, both two years old. Why not put a replaceable battery in it like the cars? Then there’s the rust, the thin metal around the door hinges needs reinforcing post production

Common fault, it tends to be the hinges for the height adjustment. Best thing to do is remove the seat (4 nuts on seat rails) and lube spray each pivot. Mine has been fine ever since
