Evening all

I finally pick up my T6.1 panel van next week. It’s having the LV-R kit fitted and painted.

What mods do I need first, I will eventually have a full conversion on it, so what mods are a must have now.

Also I want to have 2 side windows and a rear window installed, I’m in Kent any recommendations? Should I have them done before I have it carpeted?

Cheers

Welcome to the Forum! I’m in Rochester in Kent. Where you based??
Top Ten mods normally consist of suspension, colour coding, leisure battery, seat changes etc…
Everyone has differing tastes and some are more important than others.

Depends on your full conversion to be fair. But windows and pop top first.
We did that in ours and used to for the year as we then did bits and pieces ourselves. E.G. Electrics, diesel heater, LPG gas tank, sound deadening, insulation and carpeting.

Suspension and wheels/tyres for sure. Full kit (love the choice there btw) on stock ride height and wheels doesn't do it for me at least. After that, I'd suggest insulation and carpet lining, windows and seats. Chip away at it because it'll cost an arm and a leg all at once lol.

It very much depends.

Are you going for a straight conversion and leaving it at that?

Or are you wanting some styling and suspension changes that may see it lowered and trimmed up, or lifted and swampered?

Will it be a weekend warrior, or a months-awey expedition tool?

Are you interested in minor tweaks thst might make life nicer, or are you not bothered?

Let us know the end game and the wise snd sage minds on here can guide you.

All depends on your approach. Do you want to spend a shed load of money to make your van look like every other van that’s had the same 10 “essential” mods carried out. Or do you want to spend your hard earned building a van that suits you and your needs? There are “Bling” mods, paint, wheels, shiny bolt on bits. These don’t materially change the van (except in the eye of the beholder) and could actually reduce its value. Then there are practical things that actually bring something to the party and enhance the experience.
My advice would be to use the van for a while and see what you think you need, rather than spending cash on what other people think you need.
Just my 2 penneth.

Windows insulation then drive it go camping and see what you actually need
Pretty much what we did. I ended up sound deadening the front doors and front speaker upgrades (with under-seat sub). Haven't bothered with pop top etc. Went with a "Pod" in the back, which can be removed in around 30 mins and able to use the van to carry something if needs be. The Bench seat behind the front seats can also come out to give a "cargo" area if required.
Just so flexible.
