Good Morning to you All,

I am a Newb in the Transporter World of which , I'm going to be looking tomorrow and hopefully be purchasing a 2016 T6 /T28 ..Its a standard van with Barn doors & Single Slider Door.. Done less than 80k miles , One owner since new ,Got fully yearly service the same time the MOT was carried out . .I've some small knowledge of Mercedes ,Range Rovers ,Jags Fords etc but I only had a VW Golf GTI many years ago ..I did look at a Ford Ranger 3.2D But more liking the Transporter ...I live on my own and few weeks away from taking Early retirement due to life changes ..I've driven many big vans / Range Rovers ,towing caravans etc but want an easy life now .I'm not looking to convert it into campervan but perhaps a day van as such ,I like the idea of shall we say improvements to make life easier ..I had a SLK and was a Admin member in a club but time I settled down a little and just want to enjoy life with my New Puppy on great Adventures..So I'd appreciate any help from anyone in advising me where to look for any common rust areas ,common issues etc ..When should certain Transporter Maintenence be carried out on ..These questions will all have been asked before ...I'm eager to learn more about what can be done to these VW's and what other Parts from VAG are compatible ..Alloys are another thing what disc size etc can fit with what setup .Gosh I'm sure this going to be a great Adventure ,,In the mean time please im' sure there is a hughe amount of very knowledgeable Members ,That could give me as much advice and direct me in the correct path

Kind Regards

First, welcome to the Forum!
There is a vast amount of information on here and your best friend is the search function at the top right of your screen, as you know, most of the questions have already been asked. Having said that, there are always people ready to answer questions.
Corrosion is unlikely to be a serious issue, even on a 2016 model, my 2016 T6 is virtually corrosion free but it might be different if you're buying one that's lived near the coast so it's worth checking.
A T6 is like any vehicle, it needs regular servicing, as it appears that your prospective purchase has, you'd just need to continue that.
Emissions related problems such as EGR and DPF issues are not unusual, like most modern diesel engines, so obviously lots of short journeys are not a great idea.
Keep us updated, we like photos of new to you vans!

Thank You DaveD for the welcome , As you mentioned about this Forum ,I found it very helpful towards All members New or Old and we're all in the same boat as to speak ..I would 100% look after it like I've done with all my cars ..My longest was Ranger Rover had for 12 ish years ..I would get the underneath Lanoguard this in all the hidden areas.. Has anyone deleted the EGR etc but as you've said search in the Box ....Once I've made purchase and got it home I'll get photos and post some up .In the meantime enjoy your weekend

Welcome Aka' good to have you here. If I were you, with my experience of owning my panel van for a year and all the costs and annoyingness of fitting out the windows and interior despite my 'skills', I would seriously suggest you consider the below van. It's an absolute steal in my, and many other forum members opinon (assuming it's not already sold). definitely worth the trip to Nottingham. Good luck and keep us updated with whatever you go for. The seller is a long time forum member also so you know it's been looked after.
