Ways of saying thank you

Hi all,
Not sure of the right section to put this in so feel free to move or delete.

Over the last few weeks I have had a lot of help from various people on this forum, mainly @Pauly and @mmi and I think it would be nice if we had a way to say thank you. A lot of people on here give up time to help others with technical issues and problem solving which prevents hours of trawling through google.

As a way of saying thank you, what about a link to donate to a charity (some members are sadly ill and could recommend a charity they think need it) this could change monthly.

Or donations towards equipment for the T6 gathering’s?

I know we pay for VIP membership but that is a small price to pay for the download section alone. Those who use the forum once and disappear could also be encouraged to make a donation if they was not willing to join as they only need advice and not downloads or selling a item.

Just a thought as I appreciate the support I get from the forum, others may have different ideas.

I think this is quite a nice/good idea. I know certain things would have to be looked into but if it could work, it would be great

When I thought about it I had my concerns that it could get complicated and create additional admin for someone.

This is open to suggestions but my thoughts are, if those in favour of this put there charities forward and we have a poll to chose a charity then we just create a link to the charities website and those who want to make a donation can do so and post a message on the forum to say they have donated (weather do or don’t is up to them).
This way keeps it separate from the forum and hopefully no complications.

I’m not sure how it works if we were to make donations to the equipment for the T6 gatherings. Maybe a moderator can shed some light on this?

Yes I agree, giving forward is also a good one. We could have a thread “How did you pay forward”

I know I started this thread but please add any comments / suggestions or criticisms you may have to make this work.

True, very true - but some of us find ourselves in the category of having more money than brains!!! So bunging a few quid in exchange for some genuinely helpful advice on here sounds like a good plan to me! At least a high level target to aim for!

I'll leave the brains of the organisation to work out the detail!

But genuinely, I'm in a position where any 'advice' (paying it forward?) I might be able to give here would be merely mediocre at best, yet the value I have consumed/absorbed from this site is phenomenal!
