Not VW related if allowed, I'm looking for a mk2 Raleigh Chopper if anyone has one sitting about, please pm me if anything crops up, Thanks. preferably Lincolnshire area if collection is required.

Look on your local Facebook market places

They are not cheap

I have had a few one I sold for £1200 all done

Average price is £300-£400 rough

Be prepared to pay a price

I know they arnt cheap and know how the market is with prices, I am an ex VW Splitscreen owner  im in no rush so will keep trawling, thanks.

Everything we had as kids in the 70s is flying at the moment. I fancied a Meccano set like the one I had as a kid and got one off eBay, found a more complete one 3 months later and sold the first one for almost double what I'd paid for it! Nostalgia is big business now.

Have to ask Why? Beats me why you would want one inlet kids who had them when I was one were little posers

That's lovely @LambethBoy , just got one today actually and happy with the price, just looking for some bits now on ebay to finish the build, it seems to be the only place to source parts now. I hope yours is pride of place in your man cave

I wanted one at the time but my parents wouldn't let me have one because "only yobbos have them" :( I got a more 'sensible' bike which I still loved and spent all my time on, but I always looked enviously at the kids that did have them.

My parents bought me a chipper it’s little brother, it still had ape-hangers and the gear shifter.

I had the chipper too as mum thought I was to small. Loved having a go on my mates one. Still spent most of my life on that bike, or it felt like.
Good luck getting one @superflyguy . Pics when you do. Aim for the MK1 with the real gear stick!

I have got one now, picked it up on Wednesday, I went for a MK2 as its what I had many moons ago, its missing a few items that I will hopefully source the next couple of weeks, but I will endeavour to get a photo up for you.

Just for you @Sabre , need to source some parts that’s proving to be difficult and expensive that 3 speed shifter sure brings back memory’s

Wow mate, that's gorgeous.
Chain and cables should be fairly straightforward. The lack of brakes is a bit scary. But... Wow. That's awesome.

Haha I wondered if you'd notice the lack of brakes, I have most things , mudguards chain etc , it's trying to find original nuts and fittings, but no rush, I don't plan riding it, it's to go on the wall
