VW T6 Glow plug replacement - DIY

I'd like to replace faulty glow plug on my VW T6. Are there any videos or detailed instructions online that will help me with some guidance on this?

Whilst I have all the tools I need and I read all the instructions how to carefully remove the glow plugs, its getting access to it that is the problem.
E.g. removing intercooler to reach them - I would really need some guidance how to do it.

Any ideas?

Probably too late to be helpful but I have managed to remove successfully all four.
First three(#1, #2 & #3) came out very easily but #4 was a nightmare.
I thought I was going to get it sheared.

Hi, when you removed the plug with the sensor was it the same size socket as the other 3?

My #1 has been replaced with BOSCH unit in July 2024 and lasted only for 14 months.
And then my #2 failed shortly after.

15916 Cylinder 1 Glow Plug Circuit (Q10)
P0671 00 [10101111] Electrical Fault

15918 Cylinder 2 Glow Plug Circuit (Q11)
P0672 00 [00100111] Electrical Fault

This was enough for me to make a decision to replace all 3(#1, #2 & #4) inexpensive ones with an OEM VW.


It's useless video but anyway ...

I did this recording cause I wanted to document for myself the process of glow plug removal failure.
I really didn't expect it to end up successfully.
