I have the VW T6 tailgate mounted bike carrier. Its been powder coated in case you were confused.
One of the hand wheels has seized. I've got the hand wheel off and exposed the nut assembly that beneath the 8 pointed star you can see here. The nut is rusted solid......
The star just spins as it should.
Its currently in the shed with regular drops of penetrating oil being added but its not shifting and I'm not hopeful.
I don't think I can heat it due to the location to the backing section of the hand nut and the jaws.
Does anyone know can you buy the the threaded rod that leads to the bracket at the other end as shown here?
