VW Bike Rack fail

Hi, I have an OEM Bike rack where both the wheel clamps failed. Has anyone else had this issue and is it possible to purchase replacements, does anyone know? Thank you

Can anyone know what size bolts and twisting handles secure the wheel holders on an Oem bike rack ?
I'm guessing M6's ?

Yes, looks like M6 screw 70mm long, flat head so it slots in to the wheel track fixing. The twisting knobs could be replaced with a nut so long as there is decent sized washer underneath.

I was surprised to see the twist knobs on them, pretty easy to nick !
May well replace with nuts and washers.

If you measure the aluminium tube diameter you can buy plastic saddle washers online that will spread the load on the tube.
The standard VW method of a steel flat washer on a alum’ tube is an pretty crap design.
