For Sale VW 60mm Diesel Heater Duct Air Inlet/Outlet

I would disagree with PETG approaching glass point in the sunshine, it would need 70°C minimum (filament dependant) and I have had PETG prints in a car in Southern France at 40°C outside temps and still did not become soft. I think you may be talking about PLA which would become soft in the sun.

However being unfamiliar with the heat at the outlet (after the length of ducting) I have printed a batch in ASA which has the following properties:

Vicat Softening Temperature 106 °C
Heat Deflection Temperature 100 °C
Melting Temperature 210 °C

This is actually not too dissimilar to PC which is generally used by companies such as Webasto previously quoted.

Agreed the spec may state this, however from personal experience I can say some fittings/clips I made out of PETG were softened to the extent they no longer held something as simple as an awning handle (kept finding it on the floor) when the van was left in direct sunlight.
The clips were not attached to any body panels and the van is insulated to an inch of its life.

Not trying to discouraged the innovation (think they look excellent) however it's not the materials to use around the outlet of a diesel heater.

i don’t know what blinkered means, and it also doesn’t add up why you would have so many years fitting and repairing heaters yet pay someone to fit one for you for £1800. Each to their own.

The vent you just linked is £17 delivered, far from £6.

Carry on insulting peoples intelligence and work, I dont’t believe what I designed is sub-standard. I have shown you the Webasto hood marked ABS Webasto Air Top Air Evo 40 55 Outlet Hood
Wow, what a way to respond to people that are trying to help you.

What you are selling is a great design and I personally applaud the innovation, However the materials you are using are not suitable and quite frankly dangerous for the intended application of your product.

i can only continue to iterate that i’m using ASA which is superior to ABS which is sold everywhere online for the same purpose.

Doesn't make it right....

ASA is not suitable for use around heater outlets.

Did you check out the reviews of the Amazon vents? - there are several reports of them melting in the reviews.

Just stick to selling them for use on inlets only and warn people that they are not suitable for outlet vents. It is simple enough to understand.

But it’s fine, you’ve had your say. Dont buy one. I’ll continue to happily use mine.

Way to show it's not suitable yourself (#owngoal) air coming out of diesel heater is in excess of 100c.

Oldiebutgoodie just gave a great idea, protects you as well.

As for incorrect info.... Nope.

What you're quoting may be a different material mix to what I quoted doesn't make it wrong.

Perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to dismiss constructive feedback. 😉

No I linked to the specific filament I am using and heat at the outlet is dependant on the heater. Thanks for the constructive feedback. Now some for you, try and be happy and let people live their lives. stop trolling with silly hashtags and snarky comments.

I’ve said i’m happy with my product, I have sold and will continue to sell. I have already iterated and will continue to do so. There is nothing for you to win here.

We are letting people live their lives by protecting them from losing them from your poor judgement. It is quite simple - use a material that matches the manufacturers requirements for hot air outlets. I don't know why you are persisting in using sub-standard materials when you full well know what the requirements are - as delineated above.
