Make sure you know what you’re buying. There are a lot of fake dongles out there that won’t work with the current software.

People tend to hang on to them once bought. Unless they move out of VAG group vehicles altogether. They occasionally pop up on here. If buying new, then Gendan is the usual supplier. If you do buy a genuine one 2nd hand there are several things to consider. The model, the latest is the Hex-Net, older models may not work with the newer software or vehicles. And the number of VINS, the basic version only allows you to use the dongle with 3 vehicles, the middle version allows 10 different vehicles (the dongle recognises the vehicle by reading the VIN number). The pro version allows for unlimited vehicles.
