VAG seat swivel??

If you have a VAG seat fitted that swivels, I could really use your help please!

I have just fitted an Audi A6 passenger seat on to a Clearcut swivel base with THQ swivel adapter plates. However, the seat won't swivel as it fouls against the b pillar.

Can someone explain how they've made it work, including photos if possible? Do I just have the wrong combination of bits?

I have the VAG swivels from factory. The B pillar is tight and I have to open the door and roll the angle of the upper seat forward so that the armrest clears the pillar on where it joins the seat. That’s the passenger side. Driver side is more involved and needs multiple adjustments to clear the steering wheel too. Only done driver side once as don’t like messing up my driving position.

I possibly should have been clearer in my first post; when I say "VAG seats" I meant seats from a different vehicle within VAG. From your message it sounds like you have factory swivel seats?
Although it doesn't bode well if as you say the factory ones are tight!

Is it the THQ plate that’s fouling or the sliders? Several videos on YouTube suggest the seats slider rails sometimes have to be shortened to give enough clearance. Have you got a picture of the setup and the problem?

Currently it's definitely the adapter, however it looks like even if I trim the adapter the rail will be tight as well. Will get some photos this weekend.

Good to know about the youtube videos- I'll have a look at them.

The base I have is a lowered one which I know will make the issue worse, but looking at it at the moment even lifting it by 40mm won't give enough clearance.

Thanks for this - the youtube videos have been extremely helpful. I think I have an idea of what needs doing now.

Hi, interested to know if you managed to solve the fouling on the b pillar? I bought the clearcut seat base too and thq adapters and having same issue. Thanks

I ended up buying an adapter from a guy doing them on facebook (Ben Moore). Then it was simply a case of trimming the seat rail to match the adapter. Clears the b pillar nicely. I'm really happy with the clearcut base - doesn't rattle at all.
