Hi.... I am currently selling my 2016 T6. I have been approached by Ultimate Campers, based in Poole. They have offered without viewing, will pay a deposit in advance and then transfer agreed balance when we meet. They want a photo of my logbook and need my bank details to pay the deposit. Has anyone had any dealings with them. Any advice, testimonials etc would be helpful. They sound genuine.

If it was me in the first instance I would go to their official website get their email then email them directly using ‘their’ email address just to check they are actually them.

Personally sounds a bit odd so be cautious.

They're a pukka business registered with Companies House with named directors and account filings.

But still be cautious, and be double sure it really is Ultimate Campers that you're dealing with.

I have a separate bank account that contains very little money that I use for situations like this. I can transfer money in and out as necessary. It pay out no direct debits or standing orders.

Speak to your bank to confirm, but I'm pretty sure they can't do anything with your bank account number and sort code, other than pay monies in to your account. I'd be much more wary about providing a copy of your logbook. At the very least, I'd want to plaster a watermark all over that pic, to the effect that it's a copy.

All of the above pre-supposes you are 100% sure you are dealing with who you think you are dealing with.

Ring them up from the number on their website. But don’t include your address when you send a pic of the log book or the 11 digit ref number. Blank those off with a bit of card/paper. They don’t need those anyway…
Are you local to them?

What spec/age/mileage is your van? If it’s the right van, it might be just what they’re after.

Hi, I recently bought a T6 from Rob at Ultimate. Totally genuine and patient but is a salesman first as you'd expect - it's his livelihood. I am delighted with my van and Rob has always responded to my post purchase queries.
