It uses the ABS sensors to monitor wheel rotation speed
When fitting new wheels and/or tyres you will need to reset it as it will ping once you start driving to warn of a flat tyre, i find i have to reset it initially and it will sometimes ping again after i have covered 20-40 miles, quick pressure check reset and all is generally fine
