Towbar - tungsten vs LED lighting

I have recently converted my 7 pin towbar socket to 13 pin to enable me to tow a new caravan, before now I have only towed trailers with convention tungsten lighting.
With the caravan now hooked up, the van will show a lamp failure warning on the dash, my guess this is almost certainly due to the LED lighting on the caravan.
I assume others have had the same issue and wonder what they have done to overcome the problem.
I guess you could add a resistor to each of the affected circuits within the caravan, but in my mine this is just adding unnecessary load and generating heat.

Might be worth speaking to your caravan dealer. I think it was swift we’re aware of this problem and were fitting a control box between the lights and plug to prevent this happening

You are correct in that my caravan is a Swift and Sargent seem to manufacture the electrical systems for their caravans.
Being the Easter holidays and not being able to speak with anyone I did try their website to see if there was anything available to resolve the issue. Will have to ring them tomorrow.
I was trying to find out, also understand more about the VW system and what would trick it into believing that everything was OK.
