Talking about coincidences, well can you beat this?

Ok, I've not shared this online anywhere until now, as to be honest even though it was about 3 weeks ago I was still in a little shock lolol

So here goes.

I work offshore, I supervise commissioning of Drilling Control Systems, currently working for BP.

We have different companies supplying the systems, and they provide manpower to carry out setup of said equipment.
One of those companies is the company I left in Feb after 5 years of service, previously to that i was in the RAF.

So I have a team of lads from my old company working onboard, and we are having a cuppa, when I am looking through facebook and up pops one of the guys on "people you may know".

"oh steve, you've just popped up on my facebook" I say, and start to look at his profile.
"oh you were in the RAF aswell, small world"
"no way, you grew up 5 miles from me, ha ha"

So Steve asks where I grew up, it just so happens his cousins are from there... do i know them???

Oh yes, infact, my first wife was married previously before me, she was married to a cousin of theirs.....

"Whats her name?" says steve.....


Yup, I was married to this guys Ex wife, I met her 2 years after they split.

We both left the Airforce within months of eachother and started with the same engineering firm...
i leave without ever having met him or ever even knowing who he was or who he was if you get me.

Now we're sat in a little tea shack on a rig off shetlands coast sharing stories about OUR ex wife!

I was honestly in shock... it is a small world!!!

Yeah that would put a totally different spin on the concept of 'climbing into someone else's van' if you get my drift.
