Can anyone recommend an auto electrician in the Bristol area who could look at my rear tailgate sensor, which shows constantly open even though shut (and I’ve cleaned sensor and locking mechanism). Thanks.

Hi,
We have had this before on a vehicle we were converting for a customer! I tried removing, cleaning checking and all the rest but couldn't find an issue!
Ordered a new part through TPS and replaced, sensor warning was now fixed.
The install isn't too difficult if you have some basic tools at your disposal!

Can’t recommend an electrician, but chances are it’s the micro switch in the latching mechanism in the door. Not difficult to get at & test if you know your way around a multimeter & a screwdriver.
Hi all, just checking if anyone knows where the micro switch is on the latching mechanism? Alarm beeps all the time telling me the tailgate is open. Changed the actual latch, door stops. If the striking plate is worn is this a possible cause- should the round part rotate as mine looks worn and seized. Any help will stop me going crazy with the beeping. Thanks.
