T6 wheel bearing

Does anyone know if a bearing puller intended for a T5 will work to change a rear bearing on my T6?
There are so many pullers listed on eBay for a T5 but I’m struggling to find one for a 2018 T6, is the hub different on the two vans

I`m sure the T5 and T6 wheel bearings are identical so puller should be the same. The fronts are also the same as the rears.

yep, specifically bought a puller a few months back, it was labeled as a T5 tool, but did the job for my T6 rear, you wouldn't want to do it without the tool....also double confirm, the wheel bearings i bought were suitable for both front and rear.

Are the cheap pullers for £50 ish worth it?
I've only got one to do at the moment but hoping it would last long enough to do all 4 as the years go by.
If they're crap and break on the 1st use I won't bother.

Yes, in most cases a bearing puller or hub tool listed for a VW T5 will also work on a T6 because the rear hub and bearing assembly design stayed basically the same between the two generations, especially for the standard Transporter and Caravelle models, so the puller dimensions and bearing fitment are unchanged. Just double-check the specs to be sure the puller is sized for your 2018 T6’s bearing outer diameter (usually around 85–90 mm depending on variant) and that it supports pressing the new bearings back in evenly; if you’re uncertain, look up the OEM bearing part number for your T6 and confirm the puller’s compatibility listing against it so you don’t end up with a puller that won’t seat the bearings squarely.

Yes, that’s correct—most bearing pullers or hub tools made for a VW T5 will fit a T6 as well, since the rear hub and bearing assemblies are basically the same on these models. Just be sure to check that the puller is sized for your 2018 T6’s bearing outer diameter, which is usually around 85–90 mm depending on the version, and that it includes the proper plates or adapters to press the new bearings back in evenly. If you’re unsure, look up your T6’s OEM bearing part number and confirm the tool’s compatibility so you don’t risk damaging the new bearings during installation.
