T6 Not Reving

I have T6 150 DSG has not been used for nearly 5 months charged the battery and got her started have not driven when I rev the engine in park or neutral will not rev over 2500 is this normal

Yes, rpm is restricted by the ECU if you are not actually moving.

I suspect it was a sneaky move by VW to stop MOT testers revving the bollocks off them when doing the emissions tests.
