T6 Kombi 4motion Advice Please

Hi there.
I'm in the market for a T6 KOMBI.
2 years ish old and 4motion.
Any advice on what to look for / avoid appreciated
I've been driving a T5 for the past 7 years so looking forward to an upgrade.

Pros and cons of 140/150/180/204 bhp ?
Dsg ?
I'm used to 3 seats in front on my T5 plus 3 in back (r n r bed) but considering 2 singles due to squash for front passengers...usually my kids.
Thanks.

It’d be interesting to hear the variance in mpg between the different bhp if possible
Thanks.

I have a 2017 truck in the form you're asking about and I love it. I do however recommend that you think why you would need 4wd and to you need 204hp?
I use both most days, for the last 2 weeks I have been pulling a heavy tri-axle trailer through fields and although not a LR Discovery, hasn't stopped once. Anything 2wd or lesser power would not do the job for me.
Fuel wise I can't say what any other version could achieve but doing what I do I get 25-28mpg then on a run 35ish.
By the way mine is DSG.
So, really I'd suggest driving mine if you're around and/or getting the dealers to arrange test drives.
Best of luck pal, you'll love whatever you buy.

only had mines just over a week, DSG, although i traded from a 3.2 Ranger... Worse truck ever!!... the bus however is a breath of fresh air

I have 140bhp a 6 speed manual 140 4motion. A diff lock is a must I'd say.
Brilliant for getting out of muddy car parks ! I'm tempted to re map at some point for that little bit extra when overtaking. Down here on the south coast the roads are full of oldies doing 35-40mph on the open road !
Fuel economy is the same as my old 130 t5. The single front seats are way more comfortable than the bench one.

Hi Danny b
Many thanks for your reply, very helpful.
I don’t need four-wheel-drive that often but it is my understanding that 4motion works most the time similar to 2 wheel drive in that, there is 90% to the front wheels and 10% to the rear of most of the time and when 4wd needed, there is more power to the rear.
Is this how it works?
My current T5 gets about 35 mpg average
I'm defo having second thought if this particular T6 is what I need.

I have the 204 DSG panel van 4motion and love it .
I love the 204 you don’t always need the power but it’s nice to p++s off boy racers.
Has any one else tried the launch control feature ?

you've just pointed out 1 of the arguments for 204.

I have a 204 4motion manual with diff lock... never needed the diff lockup be honest but not been camping in muddy fields yet.

Had a dsg for a courtesy van and absolutely hated it but each to their own.

204 wise it does shift also tempted for a remap

Yes it puts a smile on my face every time.
I still have my T5.1 Kombi 180 manual box-still love driving this but prefer the DSG and 4 motion

Turn off traction control
Foot on break
Hold at 3k on the revs
When lights change
Foot of
And boot it
That doesn’t sound like launch control if your holding it at 3k revs and not foot to the floor.

Same as me getting a WOT box for my manual

Stop your car. Enable Sport mode, Deselect traction control (one press will do), Push the break in and mash the accelerator all the way down, Release when ready and have fun
