Hi
I have just bought a t6 highline camper damaged.
I am after a front end and airbags,it would be appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction.
Regards
Paul

Airbags will have to be new really, to cover your arse in case of a failure...

If someone else sources and fits, its their problem.. If you source and fit, and they fail to deploy in event of an accident and you or passenger is injured due to it, its a get out clause... Especially as airbag deployment will have been noted on vehicle history, and is the major expense.. But that's my advice..

The airbag is the biggest problem of every crash. A mate at work has a brand ne Volvo XC60 as his response car. In the ice and fog he slid through a junction and touched the ditch on the other side. Not a huge amount of damage to the front, but sufficient to activate both front bags. Took two months to find somewhere willing to repair it as it is a full dash swap and new bags. It was only 3 months old and was on the verge of being written off!

You will also have to dig out and replace the crash shock sensor as well iirc

Hello Paul. Sounds like you are in a similar position as me, I have a 65 plate face lift T28 with front end damage. Parts are about but the VW surcharge seems to apply a lot. Ebay is worth watching and TPS are worth looking at for genuine parts. Pattern front wings are on Ebay but are not cheap. Check your engine and gearbox mounts as they are a bit fragile. If you buy second hand seat belts check the little indicator in the middle of the reel it should be green, people on Ebay tend to sell as a whole kit including box. Might be worth getting the van plugged into VCDS/Vagcom this will show up all of the faults. There are firms who can reprogram the airbag ECU. Good luck Baz

Hello Paul. I was in TPS yesterday ordering some more parts for mine and asked the guy to price bumpers for me. Textured one is just over £210 and primed one was £504 all in with grilles and VAT. These are genuine parts so unless you find a bumper that is the right colour for your van I think some people are asking a lot of money on Ebay and such like.
Scary price was £400 + for the air con condenser / rad.
Regards Baz

IIRC there was someone selling a front bumper (or two) on here!

Sounds like a good excuse for a complete steering wheel upgrade too ;)

Good luck getting her fixed!

Alternatively, make me an offer for my complete T6 Highline steering wheel complete with Airbag in as new condition (c.3,500 miles) and I'll upgrade mine to the R version... :)
