Hi ,I have an issue with my T6 2017 dsg gearbox on a morning when the vans cold I take it off the drive, it goes up the box no problem, about 400 meters down the road when I brake for the junction it goes down the box into 1st as it comes to a stop with my foot still on the brake, you can feel the van trying to drive through the brakes just for a second (it does a slight jump ) then stops dead as it should do ,it only does it once a day from been cold then drives up and down the box smoothly with out any issues, it's done 76000mls had the dsg box serviced at a gearbox specialist and
they said it had been serviced in the past and they couldn't find any issues with it.

Any body with any ideas
Cheers Paul.

I guess that others might ask for any codes. That is if they are available on the box. I would take it to some where like a specialist VAG or autogear box specialist. See what the others might say.

Really needs diagnostics on it to check the electronics side of it but could be a sticking valve

Cheers guys have had it on a diagnostic checker at a gear box specialist the report showing no problem with the box .

Then it's mechanical, when the specialists did the box did they carry out the correct adaptions

I'm inclined to agree however they do t always show

Adaptation is where there specifics of your driving style and engine chariteristics are self learned by the ECUs of the engine and gearbox. Adaptation has a set value out of the factory then the the gearbox essentially learns what it should do from your driving style
You can also manually force adaptation parameters in the gearbox ECU, so it behaves how you want, rather than how VW have designed it to learn and work within a set of goalposts.

Mines had an issue where it can 'clunk' into second

Done it for 70k miles. Though, I've learnt how to fix it and 'adapted' my driving style. I get the box warm, give it a 'kick' (as in, manual mode, through gears, driving like Lewis Hamilton for about 5 minutes) and it disappears

Always, always suspected a slightly sticky solenoid but it was always in parameters, so, no freebie under warranty... Thought I'd say as I'm my17 and I've had her for nearly 8 years. Which Is a bit scary. 😅 @ 96k

Funnily enough, given that 'kick' I give her, I haven't noticed it the past 20k, except maybe half a dozen times? Perhaps being less gentile a little helps get the galleys etc pressurised.l!
