T6 Battery Vs Passat

How come I can leave my Passat untouched for 6 weeks and it starts first time but my converted T6 needs a run out about every three weeks to keep the battery charged?

Mine is regularly sat for 2 or 3 weeks without moving - so far no problems. Only indication I get of battery depletion is it takes a good run before stop/start kicks in after standing for an extended period.

Maybe you have some extra kit connected to that starter battery draining power?

maybe your Passat has a smaller engine thats easier to start?

maybe your Passat has a bigger battery?

in any case you can check you standby power draw after the van has gone to sleep. (after 30mins - 1 hour)

it should be less than 25-50mA. . . . . . . . . above 50mA could indicate a problem (Parasitic current draw)

also dont forget your T6 starter battery is only 80% full if you have Euro6 stop/start etc.
