Hi all, I have 20 inch wheels on the van with the (not recommended 275/40/20) tyres all round et38 rear and et35 front , I have just lowered it on b14 comforts and now obviously I have rubbing ….

Now the question is I would like to go for a smaller wheel 19 perhaps but don’t want to lose the look what do you all recommend ? As the van is silver I’d like black wheels with no rubbing.

Note the b14s are completely lowered down the the 70mm mark

You don’t need to reduce the wheel size, just the width of your tyres. If you want the same overall diameter and rolling radius as the 275/40r20, change your tyres for 245/45r20’s instead. I’m also on Bilstein B14 Komfort suspension and was experiencing rubbing on full lock. Replaced all four tyres for the 245’s and the difference is night and day. Plenty of threads already discussing tyres and wheel sizes.

Where is the rubbing occurring and what width are your wheels?

It’s rubbing on the front of the arch liner and on full lock rear of arch and inner arch liner about 10mm

Then how about a 255-40-20 on the front? That size is available in 101 load rating which is OK for up to a T30. That will give you the 10mm more clearance on the inside. You could ease the arch liner a smidge with a heat gun or perhaps add some 5mm spacers to gain a bit more.

Do you think that would work, I’m running Michelin cross climate 2 and don’t want to buy them and still hit

Maths says they will from what you have told us.

Put the current and suggested new sizes into will they fit see what they say the difference is, then measure it on your van.
