T6.1 OEM led headlights retrofit

Hi, so 7P6907357E is for range control only. These headlights dont have cornering feature.

The headlight part numbers should be OK. As long as they are 7l2 rhd, your be fine.

992941571ae are the correct lcm part numbers. This must be exactly this number. Very important not to steay off this.

I'll dig out the part numbers later on when I am at my laptop for you ash

I did wonder if the corning feature was also to do with the fogs when you turn, hence one model did the fogs then there was another module for the LEDS and Fogs.

I stuck my head under the drivers seat this afternoon and discovered it already has the towbar prep added which is pretty good.

Haven't had the van long and it my first VW I've owned so lots of learning.

Hi Ash, fogs are controlled by bcm only.

Here are the plug connectors for the retro fit

14pin headlight plugs x2

26pin range control module x1

4pin level sensors

The 26pin plug uses the same crimp ferrules for the bcm plug connectors. Look for a all in one kit for these connectors. Ali express should be OK for this.

The SC fusebox terminals are for the larger maxi fuses. Now I dont have the exact part number for these only a few links from Ebay. These are the 2 x 25amp fuses for each headlight.

@DanW81 Great job done. And it looks not so complicated while reading your posts, but I am sure that a huge amount of time and effort was spent here.

First of all, I have to say a big thanks, as I started working on something similar ( I had level sensors already in place), you saved me time and my life with your coding screenshots, especially for Leuchte 2SL.

So, I can see that you know what you're doing, and you already went through this, I have to ask you for some specific help.

As I have only one right headlight, now everything works on it, DRL, blinker, low and high beam (except HBA, but it is not in focus for now).

In the meantime, I got the left headlight (7L1941035D) with 992 941 571 AE module. So I expected to just connect the left headlight, and all would work as it does on the right side, but unfortunately, not. The left headlight just turns on low beam regardless of the position of the rotary switch, and does not react to any command. Just goes up and down on the first run.

I saw that you mentioned that you added some datasets, but not 100% what that means, as the right one. I got it together with the module mounted on, and it works after proper coding.

So now, I'm confused. What should I do and in which direction should I go to find a solution?

I see that D6 and D7 have the same ASAM Dataset: EV_LLPGen3LKEBODPO68X 001003.
And the difference is that D7 (working) has Part No SW: 992 941 571 AA, but D6 (not working) Part No SW: 992 941 571 AE

Hi, thank you. Have you uploaded the same file for d6 to d7?

This is all I had to do as the commands on the coding are identical to both modules.

I use vctool for this, as this file for t6.1 transporter is free for the pro subscription.Screenshot_20260418_134548_Chrome.webp
You have to use this dataset file to paramatise both d6 and d7.

It looks like you have no communication with D6. Are you sure the fault is not with this module. Has your d7 is fault free (right headlight )

Hi,
Actually on D7, I did nothing, that’s why I got confused when D6 didn’t work. But, I got them from different sources. D7 comes with the headlight. Maybe Right headlight with factory module comes from the same t6.1 🤔, but D6 module is new and empty.

I’m not familiar with vctool, I have only vcds, and as far as I know, it not possible to upload dataset using vcds.

Do you know, is it possible to copy the dataset from the D7 and upload to the D6?

Not sure that module is 100% correct. Will get another one soon to test.
 
Ok, so this module may or may not have a different parameters to it. The fact that you are getting a communication fault could mean it is faulty.
Unfortunately vcds can not paramatise lcm's. You need odis or like me vctools. If you pay 190euros for a years subscription, you will be able to get the correct datasets as i have pictured and upload this to your D6.

Thanks, I will try definitely to upload the dataset, but here in Serbia I don’t who can do that.

Let me know, is it possible to download the needed file and go to someone who has odis to just upload it?
Can I use odis hardware interface with vctool, if someone wants to lend me one?
Can I get this file with monthly pro subscription on vctool? I think i don’t need yearly.

You said this in some of you previous posts- Box 2 on selector is if your transporter as 'high beam assist' feature. Pic above. Can you help me to understand what exactly should I have to set as I have HBA?

My current setup on function B is on the picture, as I didn’t find function Standlicht. Can this cause some issues? I’m not sure tbo.

Hi, I believe odis can be linked to vctool. They have videos on YouTube explaining this. I have never gone this route, sorry.

The easiest and simplest way is the way I have explained. Yes you will have to pay to subscribe to vctool but you will get the correct datasets as in one of my pics, then it takes around 10seconds to upload.

Again, vctool as around 60 t6.1 transporters backed up on there server. Some of them are fitted with the HBA feature via A5 camera or module 20 dimming mirror. Again you will be able to scroll through the backup datasets and coding/adaptions to see what one is applicable to you van.
