T6.1 OEM LED Headlights in T6

Hi All,

I'm in the process of doing a facelift on a T6 (with OEM led headlights) to a T6.1 (also with OEM led headlights), I have found (via this forum) a member that has created an adapter for plug a play (pretty much) loom to convert PQ25 to MQB platform as the headlights on the T6.1 are canbus controlled.

That side of things all seems good, I have seen YouTube videos and installation instructions, the issue I have is more trust related. the maker is an individual abroad, he is a member of this forum and active, and this post is in no way to disrespect the seller and more of a due diligence exercise as the transaction is cash only by means of meeting a courier.

He says they have sold a few into the UK and to T6 forum members, so if any have indeed completed such transaction your comments whether public or IM would be appreciated.

Everything I have read about him is good, that region has a bad rep but I believe him to be a good guy and would have no problem purchasing from him, quite a few people have dealt with him and all good outcomes as far as I know, not heard anything bad/negative
If you want 6.1 LEDs then go for it !

Very keen to hear how this goes, please keep us updated on how the conversion goes. I’ve a t6 with factory leds and would like to upgrade to a 6.1 front end with factory leds.

I bought it from him and everything is fine.. great communication and approach.. I recommend it.
Hi.
Just came across your thread,
I’m doing a facelift t6-t6.1 and the non OEM headlights works fine when ignition on but then when engine running the led DRLs are flickering, will I need one of these looms? Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks 🙌🏻

You'll all be pleased to know that everything went great. I'm not going to lie, i was still nervous up to the point of actually having it in my hand as it seemed dodgy as f***k like some kind of drug deal meeting up handing over cash etc lol.

But......

I can confirm, the loom is very professionally made, the firmware program to modify the settings is great and easy to use. so, thanks again @F-roger. i will however be in contact to help rewrite the manual a little to make it clearer.

In effect in the T6 the battery and holder needs to be removed to gain access to the electronics box underneath (contains the ECU). this is where to connect power and locate the fuses and computer of the loom as the ip rating isnt very high. The pass through connector then needs to be connected to the dark blue plugs at the bottom of the holder (position 10) so that was annoying lol. I would also recommend getting the flattop fuse box grommet to run it properly into the front of the fusebox.

Vans now gone off to have the ADAS position checked, then the rest of the front can be put back on. Can't wait to get it back!!!

Nice to hear. Thank you for trusting me.
The device really has no protection from moisture, if I seal it hermetically, then we will not be able to update the software. I periodically release firmware updates in which I eliminate minor inaccuracies that occur when working on different cars, as well as add some additional options (for example, strobe mode)

I love the strobe mode, great idea.

@F-roger Hello. I’m sending you a DM, I have some question about this harness. I’m interested in one.
