Other than the usual suspects, Focal, Alpine, Gladen... has anyone installed anything else?

Couldn't see anything else in the search results.

I'm considering some JBL components as I've always liked JBL kit.

Also considered going with 2-way speakers.

Morel virtus nano in mine. I’m having a full setup by Chris at Davtec but due to some complications only currently got the door speakers and tweeters in and no amp yet and it sounds a lot better than factory, and the gladens I had on the last van. But gladens are - lot cheaper and good for the money so depends what you’re after!

I just want a bit more bass, not an audio geek who can hear how smooth the treble is etc.

Tempted by a set of 2 way JBL and leave the A-pillar tweeters disconnected.

But does the headunit have separate outputs for the tweeters, which would leave a 2-way speaker with no treble at all? Hmmm...

Have you thought about a little under seat sub? I fitted a pioneer active sub and it made quite a difference.

Guessing nobody strays away from the direct replacement route.
And for good reason I think. The Gladens are so good even with the standard head unit and given that it (and the Alpines) come as kit specifically for the T6.1 they are easy to wire in. No matter what you go for the best additional thing you can do is use Dodomat sound deadning on the inside of the doors and the inside of the door cards where possible. It does require a fair bit of dismantling but really worth the effort.

I've done the plastic panel and the door card. Was waiting till i change the speakers before I add some to the door skin.

No separate tweeter outputs.

I've just bought a little amp from THQ to make more of the Gladens with the standard head unit, I'll get around to fitting it shortly.
Vibe amp?

Be interested to see if you notice much improvement over the built-in amp.

Got the basic (gain only) vibe amp on mine, Gladens and deadened doors plus some Hertz 6x9 in the back. The amp is definitely needed in my opinion, more of everything.

I wasn't actually that impressed when the Gladens were fitted, way too much treble from the tweeters, but far better than the standard squeakers of course

Does it work ok? Any interference noise or anything?
