T6.1 Adaptive Cruise won’t switch on after steering wheel swap

Hi,

I’ve just fitted a steering wheel with dsg paddles and all works fine apart from the button that turns the adaptive cruise on and off is different and just says cancel.

It doesn’t do anything when pressed so assume it needs coding. I have vagcom but struggling to find which module to look in.

Any advise would be appreciated. Tom

Steering wheel module, it’s the byte that references the platform type from memory. Last byte on first page

Not with my van this weekend but happy to do a scan for you when back

Assume you used a golf mk8 wheel with touch sensitive buttons ? That’s what I added to my t6.1

Hi, it’s this one which shows as a Golf Mk8 / Passat.

I can’t find steering wheel module on vagcom, is it under another name?

Could anyone help me further with this. I still can’t get the adaptive cruise to turn on. Have found the sub system and tried ticking the last byte but no luck.

Everything else works including the dsg paddles.

You need to get the wheel with button configuration or just buttons exactly to what you had (but with DSG paddles connection). You wont be able to reconfigure the CNL button to become ACC to my knowledge without some kind of PCB butchery :(

Got to gateway, adaptations and search for multi function steering wheel.
Check the version and see what is selected as the wheel would have inherited what vehicle it came from. It may be as simple as changing it to ACC if it's not already. But there are also plenty of other things in there that are required for ACC, which may update if you change the version. Remember to back up or write down all adaptations and long coding first.
