Stone chips on side bars

Hi
All you people with side bars
Do they suffer from stone chips off the front wheels? Or do you need to fit mudguards?

Thanks

I've had no real issues so far though I haven't looked too closely! The collect muck/spray as much as the van would anyway. I've yet to fit my mudguards

Hi Rob,
Yes, they do suffer, especially during winter and in rural areas, but the problem is made worse with any wheel and tyre combination that sits further out than standard. So standard wheels running with spacers, or wider, aftermarket wheels and tyres.

Mud flaps will help, but the OEM ones don't help an awful lot if you fall into the categories described above. A few of us have had success with these cheap ones from eBay. The seller isn't connected to me in any way, but they have gone down well with several members.

Cheers,

Chris.
