Hi all, my caravan was stolen from a supposed secure storage site last week. it was in between Portsmouth and Chichester, Nutbourne. very little hope of getting it back, but posting here as we cover the whole country, if not allowed please remove.
It is a Swift Charisma 560, a lot of unique interior work was recently finished but outside has a pull out awning on the road side which is unusual, the entrance door has a D shaped disable handle to the left of door which we fold over the door and lock, and a 3aaa badge on the rear panel up high on the right side.swift 2.jpegswift 3.jpegswift.jpeg2971ebc0-dfe7-450e-8db6-406441ea79f6.jpg

Probably on its way to Appleby.....
Hope you get it back
we have Wickham horse fair very soon down here, all pubs and shops shut and the police stay away. we have searched around certain places but not holding my breath. it was wheel clamped, hitch locked, alarm on and legs down, with double locking on the door. Nobody heard or saw a thing. very strange.

Was it being stored for you by a company? Hopefully it was insured? Really sorry to hear this. Hope the thieves accidentally fall over and bang their heads whilst in it! Scoundrels!

yes but when questioned, they have no insurance and there cameras don't actually work, we have been paying them for years. how little you know sometimes. heres the sick part, our insurance ran out a couple of weeks ago, we were away and kept saying must do that. I don't need reminding how stupid that is but busy life its easily done. we are sick to the stomach.......

Was the storage facility CaSSOA accredited? If so, what security level was it assigned?

Bast**ds! We live just up the road from you, I will keep an eye out, but it is probably a long way away by now. Southern Ireland or Europe would be my best bet.

There were a number of members of the travelling fraternity on the rough ground by Crossland Drive, Havant about a week ago, I'm not sure if they are still there. (Just saying!).

As a matter of interest, where was the van stored, we don't own one yet, but we will be looking later this year...

My pal had a real nice big caravan but ended up selling it as he was fed up of pikeys trying to steal it.
He caught them at it a few times.
Once when it was on a campsite

Did you pay the storage fees by credit card - if so maybe claim from them.

Think there are travelers heading Goring Gap (Worthing way) so maybe worth a walk by.

Sorry for your loss.

Given it’s a single axle, that’s going to be sold on rather thank kept for use.

The pros know where to find trackers etc and whip them out. Same for all the other security measures on the van.

That the storage facility had no insurance is unbelievable and that’s where I’d be applying pressure!

For all it's worth.... My caravan was in secure storage but one of the prerequisites was that I had insurance cover to cover the caravan at the storage yard. It was a yearly requirement to make sure that the storage location on insurance matched where the van was actually stored. Be that at home, at secure caravan storage area or on seasonal pitch at holiday park.....
