Still don’t know what this button does

We’ve had our T6 for over a year now, and still don’t know what this button does. It’s behind the passenger chair, next to the sliding door. Anyone have any ideas?

On certain models there’s a OEM switch on the right hand drivers B pillar to disable the vehicle alarm, situated lower than this aftermarket switch.
If you know the converter you could contact them.
It has a power LED on the switch, does this illuminate when activated?

As it’s right by the door I would be angling towards it being a light switch. Maybe it’s been disconnected for some reason. Is there a light anywhere that doesn’t work ?

Just noticed it’s on the left hand side, 80% sure it’s for internal lights.

We have the same switch on the other pillar as the master switch for our internal spot lights

When our van had the pop top installed we had two of those on the passenger b pillar, one for the downstairs lights and for some reason one for a light in the pop top.

On our Leisuredrive we have the same switch in the same location for the awning light.

Defo aftermarket.

Normally used for led lights.

That “mystery button” situation is so common on these vans 😄

Half the time it’s not even a factory function—could be something the previous owner wired in for extras like lights, inverter, or even a heater. Seen a few where people used the blank switches for totally custom stuff.

If nothing obvious happens when you press it, I’d check behind the panel or trace where it’s wired—chances are it’s aftermarket rather than OEM.

Would be interesting to hear what it turns out to be 👍

I've put 3 of those exact same switches in in the last month, 1 to activate poptop external roof lights, 1 for higher powered USB C's and one to activate the Starlink power!
Does your LED on the switch come on when you switch the switch? I would put a switch there for an outdoor light, makes sense when you are getting out of the van...
