Start/stop error

Hello All, We have recently invested in 2021 Kombi DSG T32 6.1 on 70k miles and are looking forward to the adventures this brings for the family.
Question I have is it thrown up a start/stop error that I thought maybe battery related. Took it to Halfords this morning for a battery check and they say it’s all in good order. Whilst under the bonnet I noticed a lead with a ring crimp not connected. Wondered if you helpful bunch could let me know what this is for and does it need connecting? I’ve attached a couple of photos.
Sorry this is my first post on the forum so let me know if I have missed any detail etc.

I wouldn't worry about the stop/start it's a pita and just extra wear and tear on the starter motor and battery.
You probably won't notice any difference in your mpg either.
I coded it out when I had my van and it was the first thing I did when I got my current Golf R.

Definitely doesn't look factory judging by the insulation tape so could be anything really.

Im sure someone posted here recently with a start/stop issue and this wire was the reason why. I'll try and find the post.

Needs connecting to the POS post.

Yep - what others have said. My (unmodified) van has that wire connected, and apparently it does affect the stop start.

100% needs to be connected for start/stop to work…
