As far as I know they are locked to vin numbers...

Don't know if they are locked to Vin numbers .. if so would vcds re-code ... removed from my 2017 as upgraded with kenwood CarPlay unit .. £50 + postage

Unfortunately vcds won't do it, have a search for component protection.

Gutting I know, I upgraded to a kenwood too and have a spare headunit sat there doing nothing too!

For the sake of £50, surely it would be better to keep it, then sell the Kenwood when you sell the van?

Tech moves that quick these days so the Kenwood will be old hat whenever I get rid of the van ... just wanted to recycle the old stereo into use somewhere but alas not ... it'll live in the garage car parts graveyard in till the big sweeping brush gets it in a few years time !
