For Sale Standalone ESP32 BLE Battery Display for Victron Systems

I’ve built a standalone ESP32-C3 BLE telemetry display for campervan/off-grid battery systems. It uses a circular touchscreen display and reads data directly over Bluetooth LE, so there’s no requirement for Home Assistant, internet access, or external gateways.

At present, support is mainly aimed at Victron equipment, as that’s what I’ve tested extensively. If there’s another BLE battery or device people want support added for, let me know and I’ll see what can be done.

I’m happy to share the firmware/source code if people want to build their own device, but I won’t be providing step-by-step setup support. If you’re reasonably comfortable with Google, PlatformIO/Arduino, and modern AI tools, it should be straightforward enough to get running.

Alternatively, I can supply a fully programmed unit ready to go for £35 posted within the UK. That leaves me roughly £15 profit after hardware, programming time, and postage, which makes it worthwhile my end.

The AI thing told me to add this:
  • hobbyist-built,
  • small-run,
  • and supplied as-is without formal warranty.
I will do my best to help out, but this isnt a business or anything. Just a tinkerer that put a useful thing together.

At present, I dont have any of the screens, I will update this post once I am ready to send out to anyone.

I have replied to Dellmassive, via DM.

They have asked if it would support other devices than what I have, - from their list probably only the MPPT would work.

I guess this is a word of warning to others, in that perhaps unless you are running a victron shunt, or victron solar charge controller, the device might not support your stuff.

It might support your Ecoworthy battery, - I will go camping with brother in law over the weekend, and I will update the post if my code works! I will probably take my laptop for a small debug, but new forest is really relax time, and not nerd time.

I was thinking about making a little side project of having a small cheap device to send out to people, I think I could make one that records bluetooth data for 5 mins, and then I can ask the user to send me a file that the device produces. - This would allow me to test the bluetooth signals here, remotely. This is purely in planning at the moment in my head, but i think its possible. That way, over time I would be able to look to support other devices.

I'd really like one of these built please for my Victron smart charger and solar install. Will look great in the van and saves me having to explain the app to my wife !!

I have a Victron shunt and a Victron 100/50 MPPT installed in my van for my solar panel.
I have a Renogy 0amp DC-DC charger for 1 of the 100ah Lithium batteries ( below)
I also have 3 Renogy Lithilum batteries, 1 x 300ah ( connected to Solar Panel) and 2 x 100ah installed.
Would your display unit be suitable for my set up.
Please DM me if you require any further info.

Morning, yes, looks like it's ideally suited.

Thanks everyone who showed interest so far.
I received an email saying the parts should be delivered soon. - evri email said they have the item yesterday, so presumably they will deliver it by Friday?

I have updated the firmware a bit, it's still only working with victron mppt and Victron shunt currently. My initial tests on brother in laws eco worthy didn't work.
Although I didn't really get much time to debug.

I will do another video showing new features.
In the interest of supporting new devices, I have added the ability for the device to record its surroundings and have the user send me the file and any keys for the Bluetooth, I will try and get it decrypted and if it works can include it in new firmware.

I have added the ability to update the firmware on the device itself.

I have made a few cables up that allow the device to be powered from a port on the back. This allows the device to be flush mounted etc.

They can be powered from 5v or 12v, I could probably make a cable for 24v if someone want it.

I will sell these cables for £4.50 each.

My system is all Victron except the battery which is a fogstar 230ah:-
Cerbo GX
Victron Smart Shunt
Edges or faces may be crossing. Review in box mode.
Victron MPPT
Victron Multiplus Charger / Inverter
50 amp DC-DC

@RicoPicoUK

Please can I join the list for one of your units + rear cable?

I have a Victron Smart shunt, Orion TR Smart and Blue smart AC charger.

Battery is a Renogy eco jobby.

Hi Everyone,

So the screen's have arrived today, and I have programmed them all with the firmware.

Didn’t realise many people would want them, I have 9 here total, and I appear to have 8 customer's in the thread!
I have ordered some more boards.!!

I have made a video showing a few updates to the firmware.

I will send each of you a DM with my details for payment, and I should be able to send them out tomorrow if were quick about this.
