Evening All,

Hoping one of you help.

I'm currently away in the van on a long weekend in wales. While driving, I noticed my music was only coming out of that A pillar tweeters but not the door speakers.

This is happening when only using android auto, radio works fine.

Question

I bought a new sync data usb lead to connect to android auto...could it be that? Would a wireless dongle fix it?

Phone EQ possibly? Try someone elses phone if poss.
Cant see how it's the USB. That transmits raw data not audio signal.

Tried the mrs phone, same thing.

Went into my phone settings to try the equaliser, no luck.

Really strange because as soon as we put radio on the door speakers work.

Now thinking of upgrading the stereo or adding a wireless android auto adapter

Just weird. I thought OEM wiring was just single channel outputs L&R with the sub and tweeters running off the same cable. That's why I cant work it out.

I can't figure it either. I'm wondering if this usb a to c type is now a mono lead?

It's a fast 10mbps data lead.

It does seem very odd a usb cable could have this effect but nonetheless I would try another usb cable just in case.

As @Howzat says as far as I know the standard head unit has one common feed to the door speakers and the tweeter so it doesn’t make sense! What happens if you use Bluetooth connection?

Thinking now that it could be your door speakers- it’s surprising how you may not notice when one packs up but when the other one goes you notice it.

So, just tried resetting the head unit. Speakers still stay the same.

By resetting the stereo, the usb cable now won't recognise mine or mrs phone. Very odd.

maybe the USB module has failed...

Although I think sometimes they just need a clean, especially if they get dust etc in them.
