Solar Panel Ground - Victron MPPT 100 20

I've purchased a SmartSolar Charge Controller MPPT 100 20 to replace the function that is currently being performed by the CTEK 250 (a great bit of kit, but doesn't have a fancy app).

I currently have the Solar panel grounding on the Van, and the Positive attached correctly to the CTEK. With the Victron Controller, do I need to attach the negative of the panel to PV negative on the Victron controller, or is it OK to remaining grounded on the van?

I'm struggling to find a definitive answer to why it would need to be, and if it does - then it's a much bigger job as id need to channel a ground cable the length of the van! :)

Thanks

Just try it and see what happens....

Take a cable from the MPPT PV Neg down to chassis.

Then wire up the rest as normal.

Open the App and see what power you are getting.

Should be about 6A per 100w max.
