solar panel charge controller

Newbie question. Should the load output setting on my solar panel charge controller be permanently switched off. Manual seems to suggest that its not required in a campervan.?

Most people don’t tend to use the load output but if it’s fully configurable like on the Victron gear then it can be useful for trickle charging the starter battery

I use ours to provide power for the awning lights. It’s handy to be able to switch them on and off from the Victron app.

My EC51 control panel keeps beeping and Sargent technical suggest my solar panel is overcharging it. As far as I’m aware the solar panel constantly trickle charges the CTEK so I’ll have to see if I can figure out where to turn it off manually.
