HELP!! Just got my new van and needed to remove the armrests to put the seat covers on, got to the last armrest and then snap! bolt stuck in and unable to wind it out with a screw extractor, ended up just making the hole bigger. VW are saying its not their fault as I shouldnt be taking the armrests off, I say thats a load of rubbish and they shouldnt be using cheap bolts. Any suggestions on how I fix this problem?

Is the thread stuck?. As in wont turn? If so.. re tap a hole through center loctite a bolt in and the try to unscrew. ??

think the bolt threads into a bracket , which can be removed to repair or replace - seat cover off to do though .

Thanks guys, I tried to unscrew with a thread repair tool but as the bolt is made out of a metal as strong as plastic it didn't work. I've purchased a rethreading tool and created a new thread for a M8 bolt, just waiting for the bolt to arrive and fingers crossed this will be fixed.
