Sliding Door Lower Rolller - Body Paint

Hi, the rollers have both gone on my sliding door and in the process they have stripped all the paint off where they roll on the bottom of the van. I’ve replaced the rollers but has anyone got any advice on paint? I’m assuming it must be something a bit tougher than a can of Candy White sprayed onto the van. Has anyone used anything like Hamerite to prevent rust? Thanks in advance!

Did the scraping end, was it fixed?

The difference in roller brackets tends to be the quality of the bearing and how long it will last.

If using a more value bracket keep an eye on the rollers to ensure they are turning as you was the van - if they jam and drag that's when you start getting paint wear.

Thanks for the info. The new rollers seem to have done the job and the paint isn’t being stripped back anymore. Do you think hamerite would be a good choice to spray the exposed metal or use a can of candy white once the area is primed? Thanks.

Depends what finish you want and how precious you are, personally I'd prime & paint correct colour. Hammerstein is over rated.

Thanks for the advice. Think I’ll stick with the Candy White.
Think you'll be happier with the result TBH 😊

I've got to think about repairing my scraped paint too (as soon I can fix the lower rubbing issue). And the powered door 'jump back' at roughly 1/2 closed point! Very irritating 😒
