Folks
I’d like to connect some ambient lighting to the side lights perhaps ?? so they come on when the auto lights do.. using a piggy back fuse what fuse would I be best using?

Also, how do the 2 buttons come off the radio? Just pull off or am I missing something?

Cheers

Where do you want your ambient lights? Have you seen a thread started by @Deaky Where he sets out to make everyone jealous with his extra lighting?

There is an ambient circuit that comes on with the auto lights already in the van to illuminate various dashboard essentials and switches that you can tap into easily. I used the footwell kit with red leds supplied by @Pauly but with flyleads that I then tapped into the ambient circuit. I already had the glovebox out so used an easily accessible point next to it. Like Ed said, @Deaky made some doorcards with ambient lighting and several people have added some to the centre interior lights.

There is a common supply that runs throughout the van (dash/doors/tailgate) for button illumination that you can tap into to activate with headlights or alternatively the wiring for interior lights also passes through dash that you can tap into if desired but obviously won’t come on with headlights

Thanks folks. I have put 3 red led’s into each footwell and are running them at the moment with a cigarette lighter plug as a temporary measure (couldn’t wait to see how they looked)
I have the earth point sorted but the live is where I’m struggling. I didn’t want to start tapping into wires that I didn’t know.
Can a piggy back fuse be used ? If so do you know a fuse number or position? As I say, to come on with the lights.

All fuses are either permanent or ignition live, not with the headlights
I think your easiest option would be to tap into the button illumination on the back of one of the dash buttons/switches or the illumination dimmer dial beside the steering
