Selling my 180 4motion DSG Conversion already - for a 150 Petrol, 2wd manual!

So after a broker deal on my brand new Blackberry van fell through a year ago I picked up an ex demo of similar spec but I have just not gelled with it. Was about to get it mapped but I find it a sluggish beast and not suited to the short journeys I generally do - test drove a 204 TSI yesterday and it was so much nicer to drive - ordering a 150 manual - plan to remap to 300 and stick a nice exhaust on it!

The base cost of the vehicle is about 9k cheaper RRP than the new diesel twin turbo 4motion dsg so hopefully will be able to nearly cover it and re-doing the conversion with the sale of my pricey 4mo.

In terms of finance is going with the dealers 4.9% HP a good option - they offer a £1750 rebate - is there a max deposit?

Am wanting single swivels but at 6ft 3 will I still have good head room?

If you are px-ing your van at the dealer then prepare to be insulted by their offer

My 35k list price 4mo was worth 12 to 14k according to the local dealer after 2.5 years and 30k miles

I have fixed height factory swivels in mine - am in North Bristol if you want to try them.

Petrol 4motion would be tempting

Why not just buy a 204 TSI and remap that to 300bhp?

Not sure what the difference is between the two engines but imagine the 204 must be able to handle 300bhp more reliably than a 150bhp

No I'm selling privately.

The 150 according to tuners is exactly the same engine and I'd prefer the manual box back. It seems a good buy as going to the dsg 204 it's like they are charging you for the extra turbo (same jump up in price as diesel), it is just the maps and boxes in this case.

Also been interested in the Petrol versions of the T6 and as @amdowney says the engines are the exactly the same both single turbo it’s just VW charging extra for a different software map. Ford also do this with there Transits, 110,130,170bhp all exactly the same units which can all be mapped to over 200bhp

Wow, if it weren’t for bad luck with VW you’d have no luck at all! First a leaky one now an undeliverable one. Feel for you buddy. I bought one from the forecourt, but I suppose the challenge now might be that due to what is occurring forecourt vans are now a appreciating commodity to dealers as folk cancel orders and buy what is already out there.
I think one thing is for sure, if VW can find a way to profiteer from this, they will!
