Hi Guys

New to the forum, but as we have T6 vans at work the forum has helped quite a lot of the years thanks 😊

Having just been lucky enough to purchased a Sportline for myself which I love. But finding the seats a little scarry, we live in a semi-rural area and lots of ā€œBā€ roads around us which the van loves. But with the suspension being so good, it’s a little scarry going around corners, I think without the armrests I would occasionally end up in the passenger seat! I keep getting leg ache bracing going around corners lol.

Looking for advise on what seats to go for to provide support in the bolsters (Including the seat base) to prevent me from falling out lol.

I have looked at the MK7.5/ MK8 GTI seats (Which would match the vans Sportline branding) and noticed post from members on the RS4 seats and others installing the ergo comfort seats etc, was wondering what these were like in the real world, with the different seating position from the cars are these comfortable, do the seating angles and length of the seat bases work and would this be a good upgrade?

I only use the van as a van and apart from replacing the tin bulkhead on the B pillar to the motexion bulkhead for a bit more room, I won’t be changing so don’t need these to swivel bases.

Any advise would be very much appreciated

slow down on your cornering might help, lol. I have just fitted Audi S4 B9 seats, brilliant. the frame work to bolt on top of original base isn't that hard depending on your skill levels, wiring was awkward but lots of help and advice on here. the drivers needed moving towards the door to centralise with steering wheel, this is done with the framework not by moving base. these frames were fully welded by my son who is a welder and painted after being tacked by me to make sure they worked

My Sportline seats seem fine. You must drive it like you stole it lol.
Look at Seat Surgeons online as they do a drive in drive out service. They do some wicked seats!

Hi Guys, thanks for the information and nimrod for the pictures, this looks great and considering the MK8 – 7.5 seats. Your all probably correct about the seats from comments above but coming from a Golf R estate with brilliant and very supportive seats and living around windy "B" roads which is my commute every day, the seat bases are flat and offer no support. These also felt tipped forward when I first got the vans in February (Pre reg 2024) so I loosened of the seats from the bases and used I think 4 or 5 washers under the front fixings (Making sure I had plenty of thread for the nuts) which has tipped the seat back a little and helped, now the seat feels more supportive. Love the van and it was always a dream to have a van GTI having spent most of my life as a mobile engineer working for other companies driving around in low powered company vans. The seats imo should have been sportier with bolsters rather than posh covers over the original seats, the seats offered by Van haven look great (But assuning these will be very expensive). Think I am going to start with the plastic bulkhead as I think the peddles on the DSG appear to be closer to the seat than the manual, I occasionally go out with out engineers who have manual T6.1’s and the seating / legroom is fine. Although not looking forward to cutting out the bulkhead brackets on my lovely new van lol
