rock n roll bed problems

hi, looking for some help here. Had a relatively new VW campervan and bearings on the rock and roll bed has broken as in the picture?
Is this a common problem?
Any idea what causes it?

Should have some form of warranty, have you gone back to the conversion company?

The photo shows a hexagonal bolt head compressed against the inner ball race / shield of a ball bearing. This is totally no go engineering practice, I can’t believe it was designed this way, if it was it is not fit for purpose.
The force has caused the outer race to fracture and break away.
Was there a shell or pipe around the outside of the bearing?

Yes, I agree. No, there was no hosing around the outside of the bearing. Can’t decide where all the white gunk has come from, given that the grease on the bearing is dark grey. Weird.

@Mike the bike Someone knew that bearing was FUBAR and sprayed a load of white grease on it
Is the bed brand new to you or S/H

Hi,

I have a non gas strut rock and roll bed in my t6.1 camper king conversion. It is stuck in the bed position. I have looked online, watched videos but it’s stuck solid?? Any ideas?
