Hi I have a set of Leighton staggered wheels.
I have kerbing issues on the rears, the tyres are pretty stretched. 275x40x20.
I’m looking for some tyres with rim protection.
Does anybody have any recommendations
Got to be cheaper than wheel refurb every year.
I have Leighton LV 1 with 275/40/20 on the rear and they are definitely not stretched. I've got Uniroyal Rainsport tyres on at the moment, but previously had Pirelli P-zero. I'll add a pic in a little while.I have a budget ‘Delinte’ on the other rear and that has a very similar look at the rim. That was bought in an emergency when it was all I could get, but tbh it’s been fine.
I've got LV-2s with 275-40-20 budget Accelera's on the rear, for now, and they are definitely stretched. In fact, one tyre fitting company was reluctant to fit them as they said they don't fit stretched tyres?! With these wheels, it's not the rim thats the problem, it's the spokes that protrude out towards the centre. I just take corners like I'm driving an artic and park a taxi ride from curbs.
That looks like my Issue. I bought my wheels and tyres from Leighton vans, some budget brand on a staggered set of wheels. Your tyres seem to have a little more rim protection than mine I’ll add a photo later.
I used to drive Arctic’s. I know the feeling.
