Reverse Camera With Moving Guidelines?

Hey gang,

Just wondered if anyone has done the reverse camera with moving guidelines. My concern is if the module is say like the golf, how would you calibrate it, (does it need it & what would make it go out of sync in the future)

I do like the pretty moving lines but as far as I am aware, VCDS wont calibrate these, it's a dealer only or VAS?, plus the fact as it's standalone, could you even get into it to code/see it if it needed it.

Didn't think moving guidelines was availible in the T6.

Something to do with the camera being off centre,

Defo in our barn door version.

so it's static lines as i understand it.

Yes, someone has hacked a highline controller & they work OK according to youtube etc. Ours is a tailgate so our camera is dead central, (or will be when I fit it lol)

A few people have done it and there’s a couple people out there selling kits, I think they will basically take a camera and feed it through an extra control module that interfaces with the steering angle sensor to make the lines move (I think they normally use Touareg modules)
Not sure there’s any calibration as the calibration is done on the steering angle sensor and not the camera/headunit ie if steering angle is 0 degrees then lines are straight

This sounds like my sort of project. Would the camera output be usable on an aftermarket stereo though, once I do find the money to upgrade I’m not getting a VW unit?

No not personally, it worked its way down and off the to do list

Any links for this? All I can find is mention that the moving guidelines are only available to be retrofitted to a T5 and not T6

I'm not bothered about OEM, but that's bit steep for me. I'd want to do it myself and I like the idea of hacking into the steering angle output to get the moving guidelines

As you say, doubt very much that is an oem unless the guy is losing money
