Red light in speedo dial.

Hi, I have noticed a red light above the centre of the speed dial. The light goes out when my speed goes above 40mph. Does anyone know what this is.
I have a 5 speed 102.
Think I have noticed it with it being dark a lot earlier. It's not a bright light just a red glow.

Has been mentioned before, it's the backlight LED for the needle mounted on the board behind that you can see through the gap where the spindle passes through the dial plate.

As the needle sweeps around the centre part of the plastic covers the gap.
