Rear Lights Issues - Short to Ground (Replace BCM?)

Hi Guys, It's been a while. Long story short a few weeks ago I was putting spot lights into the pop top cant rails and accidentally glanced the main wiring loom. I didn't think much of it as it was only light grazing. I didn't notice at the time but my rear fog light stopped working and the bulb error was on the dash. This may have occurred after the event but I can't remember the exact timeline.

I'm pretty sure I have a short which I need to fix. Whilst trying to diagnose the issue and see if I can light the rear fog light up with a new cable run the sidelights on the drivers side then failed. Could this spell disaster for the BCM and is anything special needed to switch out. If I went like for like, is it plug and play? Cheers in advance.

id be looking at fuses first.

post some pics of what you have and any damage . .

did you repair the damaged wires?

do this:

Repair damaged wires. - Re test

Cycle Ignition (start van/run for min/shut down/lock/unlock) - Re test

Check ALL fuses in SC fuse box. - Re test

Disconnect battery for a full reset - Re test

Get your multimeter handy for more diagnostics.

I've had another go today. No further on unfortunately. No rear sidelights or fog light. Every other light front and back work.

I gained access to the wiring loom running along the roof/cant rail. Thoroughly inspected the damage and it was incredibly minimal. It was light grazing I expected worse. This was not the issue. Cables have been taped and checked for continuity from the connector under the passenger seat to the rear light connector. Whilst doing this check I noticed I could get an earth connection for 4 of the 6 cables. Earth, Brake Light, Reversing Light and Indicator. Sidelights and Rear Fog would not get continuity to earth off the light connector. However when connected to the light unit, continuity and earth was there for all. My knowledge on wiring and vehicle electrics is minimal. Is this normal?

I cycled the ignition and tested. No better. I also disconnected the battery and waited a while. No better.

Totally at a loss here. Any ideas?
