Rear brake calipers replaced. Brake locked

YES, 🥳🥳🥳today actually. After trying a new set of calipers, a friend got me from another friend, the issue persisted. Decide to go to black water motors Fermoy, to cry my heart out. Kenneth at the parts counter was super supportive. Part numbers were compared, in and out and upand down. But all seemed the correct parts. Head hanging i was about to leave, still crying inside. Then he mentioned something about wheels, as some you here dit. Lucky for through the despirate tears I decided to take a picture of the wheel, for no real reason really. I have a picture I told hi. With a glimmer of hope. That's it. I bought the van with crafter wheels , but the are not the same. The offset is 60, the transporter wheel offset was 51, allowing it to stand a bit more out. He whent into the back and got me a spare rim they had there. Go try this. I did, and he was on the money. New pad in I had prob another 4mm or so gap. Thank you Kenneth, and thank all of you here for advice and guidance. Super bunch. So now the hunt is on for 16" TRANSPORTER rim which are more availible than the 17". Thank you all again

Ah, good to finally have the reason and the solution, you'll easily find a set of 16s, I gave mine away a few months ago.

In hindsight, we probably should have got you to check the spare wheel to see if that worked ok. It is quite likely the previous owner put the crafter wheels on to sell it (and keeping some nice alloys for anothe car) , and it would have been just the 4 wheels he changed (not the spare)

FYI,
Some wheels manufacturers, like
Alcar, produce "copies" of the original VW 16" and 17" steel rims for the T6/T6, with the correct sizes and ET. I suspect Alcar is the one that actually manufactures them for VW, since I am the happy owner of a set of them, and besides the markings, I see no difference with OEM ones. They provide as well the TÜV approval support paperwork for the specific vehicle variant (that may not be necessary in UK as I understand).
They are dirt cheap, at less than 100€ each available by major on-line retailes, Amazon, etc, at least in central EU.
You may consider them, besides used ones.

For 100 Euros each you can buy perfect used Devonport alloys with good tyres.
Hi @DXX,
I think the Thread Opener said:

But somehow nothing close to home in Fermoy Ireland🤔🤔😐😐

Seems the availability of extremely cheap Devomports is somehow a special gift of living in GB.
And shipping 4 units with tyres from GB possibly makes the used Devonports with good tyres a little less attractive. Buying new usually you get free or very cheap delivery.
Forget about safety concerns buying used alloys without at least inspecting them first hand.

Anyway it wasn't any buying recommendation, I was only reporting my positive experience having been myself in the situation of having to find 4 good winter wheels in a hurry.

Looks that way, maybe extending the Forum Delivery Service across the Irish Sea is an option.
